In 1986 on a generations old ranch in the rugged mountain terrain in the state of Durango, Mexico (where John Wayne shot his best western films), an idea was born. The Veliz brothers, who chat all grown up experiencing the richness of ranch life; the surroundings, the music, the dancing, the home-style cooking and specially the sense of family, decided to bring this sensual experience to the world.

Their plan was to create a restaurant experience that would echo the best elements of country living. Their restaurant would invoke the feel of a true mountain ranch cabin, with log bean construction, mill-sawn floors and paneling and wood furniture. The fare they offered would be a combination of authentic family recipes, varied mesquite gilled meat cuts of the finest Angus Beef, and tried and true dishes of regional Mexican origin.

The Veliz brother’s dream finally came to fruition in the form of La Casa Country was inaugurated on April of 1993 at Mazatlan, Mexico, and to this day enjoys unparalleled popularity for its authentic western style, variety of mouth watering entrees, impeccable service, and incomparably entertaining music and dance themed experience.

In mid 2003, while on vacation in Los Cabos, the Veliz brothers recognize a golden opportunity and decide to bring their unique hand of dining experience to the new found paradise, In February of 2004, the brothers inaugurate their second La Casa Country in Cabo San Lucas.
